Boon, Kok Chin Li Fang School of Computer Science and Engineering DRNTU::Engineering::Computer science and engineering Since the olden days, palmistry has been used to foretell a person’s character traits and fate. The study of various lines and mounts of the palm helps the reader predict the person’s future. As more research on palmprints progresses, there had been more uses of palmprint being discovered, such as the use of palmprints in biometric identification, criminology identification and even health prediction. These researches surface the need to further identify and make use of the mysteries of the palm. In addition, as technology progresses, there is increasing amount of information available online that discusses palmistry and its various uses. However, the information is disorganised and is lacking a complete, easy-to-use system that houses a comprehensive database behind. This project aims to understand the different researches and technology that has been implemented for fortune telling and health prediction palmistry. With these understandings, the focus will turn to creating 2 databases, one each for fortune telling and health prediction, and develop a web-based query system that allows the users to query and get results. Hence, this report will focus on the findings of the researches and technologies and discuss the process taken to establish and develop both databases and web-based query system. The comparison between the developed web-based query system and other existing web pages available online will also be discussed. This will also serve as a guideline for future developers that will continue integrating and progressing on this project.
