| Summary: | With the increasing rate of technological advancement over the years, many affordable and innovative techniques have been developed to study protein-protein interactions. However, it is still a challenge for most of the techniques to display their effectiveness in identifying interactions as protein interaction is a complex process in which cells respond to a myriad of stimuli. This review provides an evaluation of approaches to identify novel interacting proteins with regards to the specificity and sensitivity of the methods as an elaborate understanding of proteins interactions is critical as it can bring us a step closer to achieving complete comprehension of human protein interaction network and disease mechanism system. The aim of the review emphasizes mainly on the mechanism, advantages, and limitation of each technique to understand how they are distinctive over the others in different types of situations. Recent developments or researches related to the approaches are also mentioned in the review. |
