Summary: | With the advancement of recent technology, more electronic companies strive to make their electronic products or devices as compact as possible to enhance portability without affecting its efficiency through reduction of components used. DC-DC (direct current) converters also known as buck boost converters has many uses for various electronic applications such as battery operated systems. These converters usually consist of small passive components such as resistor, inductor and capacitor together with a switching component. The use of these converter is to help regulate to a desired output power with minimal input source. With the minimal components needed, it enhanced the portability aspect of the system itself as it size would be reduced proportionally. The purpose of this paper is to explore the functionality of a switching regulator (MC34063A) to design a DC step up converter. |
