Description
Summary:Colloid science mainly revolves around nanoparticles and a fluid medium. As such, the interactions between nanoparticles and the fluid medium are crucial aspects in colloid science. In this Final Year Project report, the author present his conclusions on interactions between nanoparticles and fluid interfaces using a Molecular Dynamic simulation software GROMACS. GROMACS is a computer-based simulation method that facilitates the study of atomic and molecular movements through mathematical predictions. The simulation accounts for a wide variety of parameters which can be dictated by the user and movements are extrapolated via equations. During the course of this simulation study, the author will be conducting studies using various intricate octa decyl thiol (ODT) coated nanoparticle immersed in water-oil mixture solution and the resulting data will be analyzed to gain a better understanding of the interfacial interactions between the nanoparticles and water-oil solution.
