However, many responders today are not enjoying the luxury of having information data on the go due to lack of technology prowess. Due to this, emergency frontline responders on the ground are not able to carry out their duties effectively which cripple the level of operational capabilities and self-confidence. This project aims to create a smartphone mobile application called i-EMS App that addresses the above mentioned problems, so that emergency frontline responder can enjoy the luxury of technological benefits and thus improve on the operational aspects. I-EMS App has two main functions. Firstly, it is technologically convenient to use for emergency frontline responders to access the various services such as operational information and criteria management. Secondly, i-EMS App provides on time operational updates through smartphones notifications to eliminate the hassle of having to log on to a personal computer to retrieve the updates via emails/memos. It does so by sending a message notification to end user and once acknowledged, the updated data will be stored in the i-EMS App. As compared to another Singapore Civil Defence Force mobile application called the myResponder App, this project are targeted to specific individuals as the accessed to this mobile application are tiered due to the restrictions of some the information whereas the myResponder App are readily available to the public as a part of an interactive mobile application with Singapore Civil Defence Force. Through this project, i-EMS App are able to provide convenient access to medical protocols, standard operational procedures (SOPs) and criteria management calculators to SCDF emergency frontline responders. As an organisation moving forward, it has become more important than ever to fully empowered the Emergency frontline responders to tap on the huge benefits of technology and improve its operational capabilities.
