Description
Summary:As the global population grow, the demand for food increases along with it. Simply increasing the supply of food is not sustainable as there is a limit to resources such as land for farming. Hence to increase the supply of food sustainably new ways of farming has been developed. A fairly new method of food production is indoor vertical farming. Instead of studying the traditional methods of indoor artificial lightings, this project will focus on a more energy efficient solution which is to use light emitting diodes for producing artificial lighting to grow crops. Furthermore, a lighting system with Wi-Fi capabilities will also be designed. This report will illustrate the thought process and methods use in deriving the final product and to develop an alternative way for sustainable farming.
