Description
Summary:Compass is a hypercomic: an experimental sequential narrative written and designed for the online interactive medium. It embodies an effort to develop a consistent visual language with which to tell stories on the infinite canvas of the webpage. It tells the story of two travellers, the captain of a ship and a runaway, sailing the seas in search of the edge of the world. As the journey proceeds, memories they do not recognise as their own begin to surface in their minds, and they begin to dread that something terrible awaits them at their destination. Drawing upon the metaphysical themes of several recent webcomics, Compass is a dreamlike story about memory and fate giving way to a slowly-encroaching existential horror.
