Often, individuals who have been in contact with infected individuals are either vaccinated or quarantined so as to contain the spreading of these infectious diseases. Over the years, simulation studies have been carried out to simulate the spreading of infectious diseases, allowing healthcare officials to have an insight into the epidemic. Through these simulation studies, healthcare official can also explore the effects of various interventions. This will hence help health policy makers decide and carry out better preventive measures to contain the infectious diseases from spreading. In this project, all simulations required will be implemented by MATLAB. Firstly, a directed scale-free network will be simulated. Next, the SIR and SEISINR model will be used for the simulation of infection spreading. Lastly, both vaccination and quarantine are simulated to compare which is a better preventive measure to prevent disease spreading.
