Description
Summary:Fish keeping is known to be helpful in reducing stress, lowering blood pressure and a good therapy for people suffering from insomnia. Although fishes are easier to care and require lesser attention, but the environment they live in requires constant maintenance and monitoring. Due to the busy lifestyle of Singaporean, fish hobbyists find difficulties in dedicating time for daily fish care process and essential fish tank maintenance work. In addition, there is a lack of solutions available to help improve the situation, some fish hobbyists decided to stop keeping fish aquarium at home. This Final Year Project is to design a ‘smart’ Arduino controlled fish tank to enhance and improve fish keeping experience. Functions such as food dispensing, water changing, lighting are implemented to eliminate the workload of the fish aquarium keepers. Functions such as touch screen, voice recognition and light show are implemented to create an interactive fish tank. This report will cover the research conducted, the hardware installation and software implementation that was carried out when developing the final product, together with the recommendations to further improve this system.
