Summary: | This final year report shows 2 different load profile from the ferry and coastal vessel where the author will introduce various generation logic implemented with the ESS to find out the more efficient way of the logics from the suggested .
The report is split into 5 different sections , introduction , literature review , architecture of ESS in the system , analysis of the load profiles and conclusion. Introduction starts the report with the scope of work and the task that are supposed to be delivered within this research document .
Literature review brings about the different types of batteries that are available in the market that can be used in the implementation of ESS in ships such as lithium-ion , lead-acid , capacitors , fly wheel and etc . The effects of using generators are their inefficient rates are also discussed that caused high maintenance within the generators and wastage of burning fuel. The marine architecture tool’s architecture types are also being discussed.
The architecture of the ESS system brings forwards the architecture types from the marine tool by showing the different kind of architectures that can be connected .Examples are like connecting the ESS to the busbars of the generators or to the converters and also elaborating on the advantages and disadvantages of them .
Lastly, the analysis of the system shows the content within this report where the 2 load profiles are analyzed and different kinds of logics and cases are created to adjust the generators and ESS generation limit accordingly to find a better fit. Finally, comparison will be done according to the cases that are calculated and plotted to look at the better and more efficient method to be used for future research that can be done within the Marine architecture tool to get a more accurate and exact data of the efficiency of the case studies shown. |
