Summary: | Many of our electronic appliances operate in a low level and stable voltage supply. One of the
example would be the cell phone adaptor which all of us need to charge up the cell phone.
This adaptor would convert the 230V ac power supply we received directly from the power
socket and the internal components of the adaptor would then convert the ac power supply
into useable steady DC power supply for us to power up our electronic appliances.
The main purpose of this report is to document and share the process of designing a positive
linear regulator. From incorporating a 230V:5V transformer to full wave rectifier circuit to a
voltage regulator to obtain a stable dc supply having minimal ripple voltage will be all
discussed and explained. |
