Schools, factories, residential and commercial building are some of the places that people have a growing awareness of IEQ, due to the increased concerns over the effects of indoor contamination on health and productivity. Such awareness have placed emphasis on the environmental quality. With the rampant development in the Internet-of-Things (IoT), it is essential and helpful to leverage on the developing technology to implement a monitoring system for the IEQ. However, there are still research gaps in the field of IoT that is yet to be addressed and one of the major issues is to ensure the IEQ sensor and the IoT interface is power-sustainable to run independently. This project focuses on the parameters that comprises of the IEQ, the implementation of the required sensors into an IoT network. This project also explored various ways in which the system could work towards independent energy sustainability through reducing energy consumption and possible energy harvesting.
