In recent years, rapid advances in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) has led to the increase in accessibility of information online. This improves the interactivity, interconnectedness and pervasiveness of one’s learning. There have been many learning platforms that aid in one’s learning, yet there is a lack of analysis regarding the effectiveness and efficiency of learning platforms. Therefore, this project aims to investigate and develop a more efficient method to help students to learn effectively. There are two base factors that affect students’ learning capabilities – internal and external motivation. Grading practices can support student’s feeling of self-determination, self-regulation, and self-efficacy. However, disclosure of grades to students can affect one’s internal motivation as self-determination. Learning data analytics capabilities will also be assessed and incorporated to optimize students’ learning processes. This project will thus focus on an improved learning application that provides students with an alternative method of access to information on NTULearn. Specifically, it is a mobile interface where students are able to keep track of their study progress and allow them to be more proactive in learning. Proper and constant feedback would be given to students after quizzes and assignments to increase their knowledge on how they have performed for each module throughout the semester. After which, results will be presented through appropriate visual infographics for easy comprehension. The calendar function would also allow students to keep a record of important dates for studies. Reminders will also be sent to students to give them a heads-up about upcoming deadlines and tests.
