The main purpose of a GUI is for an ease of communication between users and the electronic devices. Instead of using text base navigation, icons, figures or even pictures are place in practice. The issue of public safety and security is paramount in any industry and country. To be able to provide such a service however is another issue entirely. Therefore, comes the responsibility of a monitoring system. The report provides a detailed description of how the GUI was built with the specifications that were given. Using software like Matlab, Javascript and OSIsoft which consists of the PI Server, PI ProcessBook, PI System and the PI Coresight. The various techniques used for this monitoring system are also included. Techniques such as condition monitoring, thermal analysis, remaining life as well as the method to using the OSIsoft software. In addition, additional functions like receiving notifications from an abnormally and ad hoc usage of the GUI are also implemented and mentioned. During the time of the project, the substation located at Jurong Island was not in operation, therefore, the system was tested after creating a test bedding system in the Water and Energy Research Laboratory (WERL) located in Nanyang Technological University (NTU). At the end of the project, the system would be shifted to Jurong Island for the full integration.
