Summary: | Singapore obtains a percentage of water from seawater desalination plants, taking the
seawater and removing the salt contents from the seawater. Currently there are
existing equipment on the plants to monitor the water quality to comply with World
Health Organization (WHO). But the existing equipment for monitor are aging and
could be improved using wireless technology. This project provides an insight into
developing a proof of concept IoT nodes sensors complete with network for
desalination plant, consisting of modular IoT nodes that are quick swappable.
Involving selection of microcontrollers, integration of sensors, choosing and
implementing network topology that works best. Building a system in which multiple
IoT nodes will communicate with a central server for data collection and display on a
webpage. Thus, allowing operators to monitor the IoT nodes from a single point. |
