This results in disruption of commuter’s journey plans. It is important to have a monitoring method that can alert the maintenance crew or allow them to have a log of data that can help them pinpoint where the fault might arise from. A monitoring method is developed to hasten the fault identifying process for a faster maintenance process in regards to faults in train door system. The implementation of the monitoring system uses 3 parameters; Voltage, Pressure and Displacement, to monitor the door actuator. The second and third phase of the project involves the addition of a microcontroller to host files for wireless transmission of data and designing of web pages for wireless monitoring.
