Description
Summary:The objective of this project is to build a low-cost application which gathers data from sensors wirelessly instead of using wired communication for data transmission. The explored aspects are the comparison between two different platforms of microcontroller, choice of consideration for microcontroller and the integration of Internet of Things. The two different platforms of microcontroller used in this project are the Arduino MKR1000 and Particle Photon. Both are open source microcontrollers kits for building Internet of Things application. In addition, to make it more applicable in real life situation by reducing cost, reduction of power consumption is achieved with turning on and off the Wi-Fi as Wi-Fi takes up most of the power. Potential improvement is suggested to increase the security system of the project.
