Description
Summary:Water, land, energy and air are vital resources of the world, that mankind depend closely and heavily on. Out of which, clean air with an appropriate oxygen content is the most basic necessity, which humans cannot live more than minutes without. The environmental balance is highly threatened in today's world, due to the long-term casual acts of humans towards the environment. Ever since the industrial revolution, which took place in the 18th and 19th century, the quality of air has worsened, threatening the availability of clean air in the environment. This has brought about rising attention towards the need of controlling air pollution and protecting the environment, as the continuity of this phenomenon can eventually threaten the survival of all living things. Using nanotechnology, refined gas detections and environment remediation are made possible. This technology serves greatly in helping the management of air pollution in the environment. In this project, we will study on the phenomenon of air pollution and the technologies available for gas detection and environmental protection. We will also examine on how nanotechnology facilitates and further improves performance of current technologies. To begin with, we would first look into the interactions of human with the environment since the 18th century; this helps us to understand more about pollutions and environmental protection throughout the centuries.
