Environment sustainability is vital for human survival, and hence it is important to invest in climate resilient technology to slow down the process of environment degradation. The need to move away from fossil fuel has never been more important for the betterment of humans. A clean and green future is the only viable future for the world. However, we cannot solely depend on clean energy to achieve this. Hence, the demand for energy management system is increasing significantly as the system can save energy and prevent unnecessary loss of energy at the same time. This report will explore and examine how energy management system for a hybrid energy storage system can assist the electric vehicle to be more energy efficient. The different types of batteries available will also be discussed as it is the most popular way of energy storage for electric vehicle. Different types of batteries will have their own weaknesses and strengths. The hybrid energy system can leverage on the strengths of different types of batteries to eliminate the weaknesses in some of the batteries. Hence, it can help to improve the efficiency of the electric vehicle.
