Summary:This report summarizes my Final Year Project (FYP) on “High Efficient Organic Solar Cell”. Over the years, organic photovoltaics (OPV) based on conjugated polymers have seen major breakthroughs in the photovoltaics technology. Conjugated polymers based researches have been intensified due to the huge potential such as higher flexibility, lower production cost, lightweight and other benefits. Currently, researchers are focusing on improving the low power conversion efficiency and short lifespan of organic photovoltaics. The objective of this report is to study on methods to improve the efficiency of organic photovoltaics. In this project, an inverted configuration of organic solar cell is employed. The acceptor and donor materials used are [6,6]-phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester(PCBM) and Poly(3- hexylthiophene-2,5-diyl (P3HT) respectively. In this project, the method of metal deposition for OPV using transfer printing will be studied to help in achieving better OPV efficiency as this method can be a viable option to replace the more expensive thermal vacuum evaporation deposition.
