Summary: | What is love? Is it a force of nature? Does it start in the mind or the heart? For centuries, these questions have been posed and pondered by novelists, poets, essayists, lyricists and artists around the world. Themes of love are flooded in novels, poetry, films, music and can be notably found in the creative arts. Endless discussions between friends who have fallen in love can be found in our daily lives. These conversations always seem like a drug. In a state of high intoxication and with great imagination, one explores more and more new ideas in order to get to the heart of thing called ‘love’, to have it and to share it. These conversations are conducted intensively in cafes and restaurants, in bars, at the end of a phone line, or these days through Whatsapp conversations. Why do we love? Why do we yearn to be loved and to find love? This research paper will look at the answers I have been given through definitions, cultural ideas, religious views, biology and philosophy. |
