Summary: | Antenna is the most fundamental component in communication systems. In order for wireless communication, antennas usually work in pairs with one transmitter and one receiver and they have to be tuned into specific frequency or frequency range. Signal is transmitted and received in the form of electromagnetic waves. Antenna also has a variety of structures and evolutions. However, there’s a tendency for antennas with small size and high performance especially for portable devices. This project will focus on Planar Inverted-F Antenna (PIFA) because of its small size, sufficient bandwidth, small electromagnetic wave power absorption (SAR) and low cost.
The goal of this project is to study the design of the PIFA and Multi-Input Multi-Output (MIMO) implementation, after that a 3D MIMO antenna will be designed with simulating software and then fabricated. |
