Description
Summary:Internet of Things (IoT) is the inter-networking of physical devices, embedded with the software, sensors and or actuators and some sort of connection to a network for communication. In this project, we focused on the development of Indoor Environment Quality (IEQ) modules with IoT wireless interface capability and the building of a prototype for Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) monitoring. The project included testing various indoor environment quality sensors paired with open-source development boards, developing a local server capable of storing sensitive data and to develop suitable applications on a smartphone so that the users can continuously be notified on the IEQ values from the nearby sensors with IoT capability. The Photon wireless development board was used to interface the IAQ sensors to form a wireless network for IEQ monitoring in critical embedded underground spaces. This was eventually developed into a prototype of the IEQ monitoring system that can be used for IEQ monitoring.
