Case studies and stability analyses of soil slope

Slope stability can be analyzed in many ways. One of the most common analyses is using Limit Equilibrium Methods (LEM). LEM includes Bishop Simplified Method, Spencer Method and Ordinary Method of Slices. The methods of analysis are based on different assumptions made and thus different Factor of Sa...

The methods of analysis are based on different assumptions made and thus different Factor of Safety (FOS) will be computed. This project makes use of different methods of analysis on two case studies, and using the methods to make comparison between results. Computer program Slide7.0 is used to compute FOS for slope stability studies. Slope stabilization techniques and remedial measures are also discussed, as it is important in enhancing slope stability. The type of prevention techniques are chosen in accordance to the soil properties and exposed conditions to deem if they are suitable.
