Description
Summary:This report focuses on a study of shape memory effects of brass with a composition of 70% copper and 30% lead (Cu70Pb30). Different techniques and methods were used to discuss the shape memory effects on brass. Indentation test was carried out by using the Hardness Tester to indent holes onto the surface of the sample. Shape memory effect (SME) of the sample was studied by using the Talyscan 150 Machine or the Sensofar Confocal Imaging Profiler for scanning 3D and cross section profiles of the sample before and after indentation as well as after heating for recovery. The procedures on how the tests were done were explained in the report.
