Summary: | This paper studies the infrastructure that has been put in place to support the growth of small and micro-enterprises in the economies of Israel and Egypt. It covers the regulatory framework currently in place in both countries and the initiatives taken to promote the growth of indigenous companies. It also studies in detail the use of technological incubators and industrial zones to assist new start-ups. The different paths taken by both economies offer a useful comparison in studying and understanding the different options available to economic planners of both countries. It also serves as a point of departure for prospective investors in evaluating the opportunities available and the suitable investment strategies to adopt when investing in either country. |
