In this report, a detailed explanation of the need for alternative energy will be given along with Singapore’s objective for investing in the development and implementation of the wind turbine locally. This is done to recognize and understand the importance of further research into alternative energy primarily from wind turbines. The description of components used for building the wind turbine is included and the selection process for the blades and motor are thoroughly explained. The selection process will be done through a testing phase which the blades will undergo. Before the test phase, 3 variables were identified as key parameters in the experiment. They are Swept Area, Blade Number and Pitch Angle. During the testing phase, a Multimeter test is used to test the efficiency of the wind turbine in generating voltage. The results were recorded and the values compared to determine the difference when a variable had been changed. All problems encountered during the build process and testing phase are observed, recorded and immediately rectified to achieve a fair and accurate comparison.
