Description
Summary:Non-Destructive Testing methods able to identify a defect on a component. In the industry, a component with defect will be rectified if the defect is found within tolerance. The challenge of this project is to find the approximation of defect depth using liquid penetrant and magnetic particle testing. A total of four different specimens were used in this experiment. There are four stages were carried out in this experiment which are inspection, Image J software, cutting and measuring of specimen and analysed data. With colour intensity of penetrant, using Image J software, allows to find the relation of grayscale value and defect depth. Three trials of analysed data were performed to find the best approach to find approximation of defect depth. Results able to find approximate depth with deviation from actual defect depth.
