Especially in the area of remote control, traditional method of interfacing like mouse, keyboard is relatively unnatural to the user as these interfaces are design to be used directly on the system. In this Thesis, we study the implementation of gesture based remote control cars. The Thesis covers the background on natural user interfacing especially using hand gesture. It then covers the implementation of such systems, starting with choosing of a suitable depth sensor for gesture recognition. Following that the Thesis describes the software components required to develop the application and also the choice of gesture chosen for remote controlling purposes. Furthermore, it also covers the implementation of a Arduino based Bluetooth control car and the corresponding communication protocols used between the PC that hosts the remote control application and Arduino which controls the car.
