Description
Summary:The purpose of the experiment is to investigate the phenomenon of (dewetting) thin film drainage between a rising bubble and a substrate. The physics of Total Internal Reflection, TIR will be used to measure the time taken for the thin film to drain away. The graph of bubble contact area with glass against time is plotted. The image frames of the bubble evolution is processed and measured to investigate changes in shape over time. There will not be experimenting on the dissolution of the bubble after thin film drains because experiment shows that the bubble will not dissolve in a short time frame of a few hours.
