Power generation by ocean waves (II) : electric generator
Power generation is an ever growing concern due to the over reliance of fossil fuels. Fossil fuels are non-renewable and are limited in supply. Furthermore, excessive burning of fossil fuels brings detrimental effects to the environment. Therefore, it is important to find an alternative source of en...

This project is aimed to study the different concepts of power generation by ocean waves and its feasibility in the context of Singapore. The focus of this project is to design, fabricate and study the concept of the oscillating water column power conversion system. Multiple experiments were conducted on the prototype built to understand and improve the design. The data from the experiments were analysed and presented in this report. As the concept is understood better, various methods for improving the design and project were recommended that could offer better efficiency of similar future projects.
