Opinion dynamics is one of the interesting thesises in recent years. Competition of multiple ideas in multiplex networks also aroused people’s interest. In this dissertation, I am trying to find out how two competitive ideas spread in multiplex networks. Barabasi-Albert(BA) scale-free network is introduced into the simulation as a social network model, and Susceptible-infectious-susceptible epidemiology(SIS) model is adopted to simulate idea spreading process on social networks. The results shown that multiplex networks have lower effectiveness than single networks in idea spreading under same conditions. This means that when under same conditions, multiplex networks have a lower infection size compared to that in a single networks. These results will help us to have better understand opinion dynamics in daily life and can help us to predict the trend of an idea spreading in some typical situations. Keywords: idea spreading, susceptible-infectious-susceptible(SIS), Barabasi-Albert(BA) networks, opinion dynamics, social networks.
