The plantar pressure is a crucial parameter to help patients monitor the walking posture for themselves. A smart sock plantar pressure measurement system was proposed which included pressure sampling circuit, signal processing system and communication with mobile devices. This dissertation focused on the signal processing system design. In order to sample more accurate data, multi sensor channels were designed, which needed a switching control in a fixed frequency. Consequently, a Verilog code for switching control was created. In the meantime, simulation and test with PCB were operated to verify the function. Likewise, the data sampled by the circuit needed to be converted to the digital signal in serial. So an ADC with embedded SPI was used. The Verilog code for SPI control was created. In the meantime, simulation and test with the front-end circuit were operated to verify the function. Lastly, in this stage of the project, a wired communication design was done. The FPGA with UART-USB bridge was used and the Verilog code of UART transmitter was applied. Simulation and test with PC were finished to verify the function. In the future work, a wireless communication will be adopted like Bluetooth. And the error analysis will be further realized to acquire more accurate data. Furthermore, more complex data analysis will be performed to provide users more sufficient pressure information.
