Summary:Dementia, such as Alzheimer’s Disease, is a chronic, mental condition that affects the brain’s ability to remember and learn new things. This condition is especially prevalent in the elderly and it is rapidly growing phenomenon, even in Singapore. There is numerous ongoing research to find a possible treatment for Alzheimer’s Disease. One field of research studies on use of computing technologies, such as serious games, to possibly help slow down and reduce the risk of getting the symptoms of Alzheimer’s Disease. This project seeks to justify the use of games as a potential rehabilitation tool for memory loss, one of many the symptom of the Alzheimer’s Disease. Through leisure play of the game, it is expected that the elderly will improve their memory capabilities while slowing the onset of Alzheimer’s disease.
