Description
Summary:Xsens 3D motion tracking system [1] is a commercially available and easy-to-use system that acts like a motion monitoring system that detect and capture the body motion of a moving person. Their inertial sensors capture movements that include walking, swinging of legs, doing lunges and dancing, and process the movements into rotational angles. This project aims to visualize the accurate orientation data as an animated 3-Dimensinal (3D) human model, and in particular, into the exploration of simulated model and analysis of the data [2]. In this project, a Visual C++ 3D modelling tool, packed with multi-functionalities such as pan and zoom for interaction, was used. The usage of 3D visualization allows user to see raw data in a more natural perspective as human motions can be seen in realism with depth. Furthermore, 3D visualization allows the analysing of big data within minutes through studying and identifying the patterns of a moving human model. The visualization of the orientation data requires data transformation in order to simulate a moving human model that accurately reflect the actual physical movement captured.
