Data extraction from flight simulator and proposal of a feasible, economic simulator motion platform

Flight simulators are devices that artificially recreates aircraft flight and environment in which it flies for pilot training, design or other purposes. It includes replicating the fundamental equations of motions and dynamic forces on an aircraft (Wikipedia, 2017). Therefore, it is desirable to bu...

It includes replicating the fundamental equations of motions and dynamic forces on an aircraft (Wikipedia, 2017). Therefore, it is desirable to build a moving platform which could simulate the motions of an aircraft (surge, heave, sway, roll, pitch and yaw) to provide a more realistic and immersive experience for the pilot. However, existing full motion flight simulators are very expensive. Therefore, in this project, a cheap way for building and programming a platform is devised by using Microsoft Flight Simulator X and Arduino Uno to control the platform. By extracting aircraft data such as roll and pitch angle, these data can then be input into Arduino Uno to control the motion of platform.
