As technology evolves at such an alarming rate, a need to implore better functionality arises. Hence the integration of Switch Mode Power Supply that could cater to portable devices as it promotes lighter and more efficient transfer of power. The purpose of this project is to design a form of Switch Mode Power Supply that could cater to other electrical devices, for instance, in this case, a modern day television. By convention, previous generation television would connect directly to the main supply for power. The internal television’s flyback transformer would switch at 15 to 50 kHz to produce the necessary output of up to 35 kV for the screen’s electron beam. Hence, design of this form of Switch Mode Power Supply would be switching at a greater frequency band, for this instance, 100 kHz. In addition, feedback through forms of voltages and current would be integrated as well. This is to ensure the circuit is robust to withstand sudden surges or outages that could happen. Design would primarily be done through the software, PSIM Pro that enables simulation of circuits, which results could be used to build the hardware, once requirements could be met. Once done, a conclusion will be made to justify the use of Switch Mode Power Supply that could increase efficiency and effectives.
