Another separate report was done in conjunction with this report titled “Feasibility Study on Tidal Energy harnessing using Underground Cavern”. Both the separate report and this report should be reviewed together to get a better idea of this project. This study benefits countries with excellent open water body networks, but lack surface land space to cater for massive water storage. Singapore is one of the potential candidate thus, Singapore was chosen to be the test-bed for this project. In this report, some background information regarding Singapore’s tidal pattern and the location of the study site is provided. More details regarding selection of the study site can be found in the other report. The “Literature Review” section covers mainly Singapore’s effort in promoting the renewable energy industry and the respective authority and organization governing the energy market. Initiatives by Singapore’s government to promote renewable energy was also discussed along with renewable energy technologies’ position in Singapore’s energy market. A feasibility study of selling stored seawater to local nearby facilities was conducted and reviewed. The discussion of the evaluation is also documented in this report. Recommendations to enable this project to be more feasible are also provided. However, it is only based on the study from this report and does not include discussion from the other report. Further conclusions were made with reference to the other report which summarises the whole project.
