Chew, Soon Beng Nanyang Business School DRNTU::Business::Industries and labor China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) is not only a commercial but also a government-government cooperative project. Chinese and Singaporean leaders pay high attention on and have great expectation of SIP. Since 1997, conflicts had arisen because of competition from a rival park in the city, Suzhou New District (SND), which was established prior to SIP. As a member of the management team of SIP I feel obliged to do some analysis on the project. In this way we may identify the real problems which are more critical than that of a rival park of SIP. More over I'd like to sketch out some elective strategic thrusts in order to realize the mission and to sustain the long term competitive advantage of SIP that both sides expect. In this dissertation I use two methods, survey and statistics analysis. I collected information from press clippings, business periodicals and other published materials mainly vie internet, and surveyed on the competitive advantage of SIP. I also designed a questionnaire and collected the information from foreign companies. A statistics analysis on foreign companies from different geographic and industrial clusters in SIP is also made. The main conclusion of the study is that SIP should focus on its core competencies, i.e. providing excellent services to those clusters which are more satisfied with SIP's investment environment. Master of Science (Managerial Economics) 2008-09-18T07:43:57Z 2008-09-18T07:43:57Z 2000 2000 Thesis http://hdl.handle.net/10356/7334 en Nanyang Technological University 72 p. application/pdf
