本研究旨在从地方认同、阶级与性别三个面向，探讨新华作家赵戎小说中的 “地方”，尝试为赵戎作品研究提供新的视角，并取定义较为广泛的“地方”为题，以涵盖零散的地景、空间等概念。在细读文本后，可以发现赵戎小说中的“地方”包含观看地景和空间的视角，在其中加入作者感情、记忆与经验使个人与外在环境产生互动后，便形成人文主义地理学者所谓有意义的“地方”。地方是权力运作的位置，身体、家屋、牢房空间的权力再现以及南洋图景、城市地景的建构等，也是本文欲强调的研究方向。 This paper examines the “place” of Singaporean Chinese writer – Zhao Rong’s literary works. In terms of “place” which has broadly been defined, it includes the concepts of landscape and space etc. After close reading of the texts, it shows that the “place” on Zhao Rong’s literary works contains the perception of both landscape and space. Interactions of individual and surroundings arise after adding in author’s emotion, memories and experiences. Therefore, the significant “place” which has been identified by human geographers is defined. This paper focuses on three concepts: place identity, class and gender to give a brand-new research perspective. A place is where the power operates, the authority representation of human bodies, homes, prisons and the reconstruction of “Nanyang scene” and city landscapes are also a concern for this paper.
