尤今小说中再现的青少年问题及其社会背景 = A Study of You Jin’s Fiction : the representation of adolescents issues in social context

新加坡作家尤今关注青少年的成长，创作了多篇青少年题材的小说，把各种青少年问题诉诸笔端。本论文关注青少年问题，以尤今的七部青少年题材小说作品为研究文本，分析文本中再现的青少年问题及其社会背景，并结合尤今创作的时代背景， 探讨社会环境对青少年问题的影响。尤今小说中影响青少年问题的社会环境因素可归纳为： 家庭因素、学校因素与社会因素。 研究结果显示引发青少年问题的导因有： (一) 家庭教育的弊端：专制型，宠溺型与忽视型教育; (二) 学校教育的缺失：老师言行不当、偏见态度与教育理念变质; (三) 社会的不良现象：价值观西化、升学至上观念与不法分子引诱犯罪。 Singaporean writer You Jin has shown her solicitude for adolescents through her youth-themed fictions, which focused on a variety of adolescents’ issues revolving around their growth. This thesis mainly studies the representation of adolescents’ issues and the social context in You Jin’s Fiction. In this thesis, seven fiction collections by You Jin have been chosen for textual analysis. The adolescents’ issues and the social context represented in the text were analyzed, so as to examine the influence of the society on adolescents’ issues. The societal factors affecting adolescents’ issues in You Jin’s fiction can be categorized into family factors, school factors and social factors. The findings of this study suggest that the triggers for adolescents’ issues include: (1) conflicting parenting styles such as the authoritarian, permissive and uninvolved parenting; (2) teachers’ negative behaviours, attitudes and beliefs; (3) social phenomenons such as the influx of western values, credentialism and criminals luring youth into crimes.
