Given the social context, this exploratory study aims to uncover sexuality related workplace challenges of homosexual employees in Singapore. A review of existing publications revealed a gap in the literature pertaining to workplace experiences of homosexual employees in Singapore. Using qualitative semi-structured interviews, this study aims to fill that gap, and will demonstrate the challenges that homosexual employees face in their respective workplaces. Goffman’s (1974) stigma theory is applied to the results to demonstrate how homosexuals protect themselves from discrimination. This study will also highlight the important role of work industries in homosexual employees’ experiences of discrimination.
