Therefore, data visualizations play a very important role. In this project, the focus was to analyse and provide a visualization on consumers’ spending trends by applying data mining techniques on consumers’ expenditures to gain insight of their demands and to observe patterns in their spending habits. It consists a series of progressive phases starting from database structure design, data population, understanding the data, discovering hidden trends, implementing the visual models into an application in web-based platform. Through this study, the product manufacturers will be able to better manage resource allocation to cater to the needs of their consumer base as well as to plan for the future.
