Summary: | Batteries are indisputably one of the quintessential product in our daily life. They come in many
forms ranging from portable to gigantic size units which are responsible in powering up products
such as our hand-held devices and even satellites. Recent study has shown how battery life of
a smartphone affects the purchasing decision of customers. The results have shown that the
battery life remains as one of the top 3 purchasing factors for smartphones and therefore battery
life has been taken into importance by the device OEMs in to remain in the competitive scene. Other than business purposes, battery life is crucial for mission, operation planning and for rare cases of satellite mission extension or deorbitation. Improving battery life will provide
better consumer experience and most importantly improve the reliability of several technological
components. Therefore, battery health monitoring is carried out for research on ways of battery
life improvements.
This project focuses on building a software to control the BA3000 Machine to aid researches in
managing the entire battery health monitoring process. The software aims to automate the entire
process of battery health monitoring by creating sequence of steps that are precisely scheduled
and carrying out the operation steps as required on the battery analyser system. Logging and
translation of crucial data to useful information using algorithms will also take place while the
test is running.
The development process will include both Back-end and Front-end. The language used for development will be mainly in C#. |
