Summary:This dissertation explores the competitive positioning of the major industry sectors of Hong Kong in the face of increasing competition from the ShenZhen Special Economic Zone and the rest of Mainland China. We use Michael Porter’s Five Forces and Value chain models, and the PESTAL (Political, Economical, Social, Technological, Activists and Legal) model to analyses four major sectors of HK’s economy, namely, finance, trading, logistics and electronics manufacturing.
