E-learning allows students to learn without the need of a tutor to be physically present with them. With e-leaning, students can learn at anytime and anywhere. However, e-learning still require tutors to assess student’s work especially in areas of design. In learning Unified Modelling language, effective learning only takes place when tutors are present to guide and identify the mistakes made by students. Given the development of technology and readily available programming libraries and packages, this project explores on the use of various technologies to implement the possibility of developing a self-assessment application to help students evaluate their use case diagram designs. The application should capture the information in the students’ diagrams and translate those information into inputs and generate out constructive feedbacks. These may be done by implementing various design correctness checking functionalities. Given the varying components of a use case diagram, this project will explore on the various engines and libraries to identify the different use case diagram components. An interface will be implemented to facilitate in the imaging processes and feedbacks display.
