Description
Summary:Warehouse management plays an important role in many companies as ineffective storage methods can increase costs and processing time, thereby reducing profit margins. As such, warehouse management technologies have been introduced to help facilitate the process. Currently in the market, pallets which contain dozens of boxes are usually idling around the warehouse for days. They can also take up a substantial amount of space and often face human errors. Therefore, there is a need to implement Bluetooth tracking measures to help reduce pallets idle time. This project documents the usage of different hardware, software, programming languages and filtering mechanisms to build an indoor tracking product from scratch. The main objective is to provide the best proximity location for Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) devices in an indoor environment. Subsequently, it will lead to the other objectives such as data management as well as user interface. The results will then be used to help warehouses cut cost through the reduction in time and space in terms of pallet management. Further work has also been thought out in the conclusions section, which would be used to further enhance this project.
