Summary: | According to Singapore Statistic (National Library Education & Outreach.03 September ,
2017), 1 in 4 Singaporeans will be aged 65 and above by 2030. To allow the elderly to age gracefully, they want to be independent and self-sufficient. Elderly find dignity in their independence. However, as they age, their independence will be affected by mobility issues caused by muscles weakness, bones and joints degeneration. This Final year project aims to create a mobility aid for the elderly that empowers them by enhancing their physical ability, so they can continue to live actively. This mobility aid can be part of an overall system to create a workout programme for the elderly. |
