Curfew imposed on infrastructure such as the limiting operational hours of audible pedestrians crossing signals can impede their independence and compromise safety. Inaccessible features in public places are also barriers that hinder them from engaging in recreational activities such as running and cycling. These issues create unnecessary inconvenience for visually impaired individuals. Hand in Hand offers a buddy up system by linking potential assistants to low vision individuals through a mobile application. It creates opportunities for the low vision community to participate in a more extensive array of social and recreational activities. Through the engagement with the app, Hand in Hand aims to build a support network to foster an inclusive society.
