Description
Summary:In the information age, how to store, transmit and process digital signals effectively is a hot issue. As an important branch of digital signal processing, multi-rate signal processing provides us with a flexible and practical signal processing solution. Because of this, multi-rate filter banks are widely used in many fields, such as image coding, speech, audio and communications. There have been a lot of studies of designing multi-rate filter banks. However, many methods using mathematical formula derivation are complicated and difficult to understand. In this report, a method of deriving the basic structure of non-maximum decimated filter banks by using simple signal graphic transformation is studied. This method avoids the use of mathematical derivation and derives a generalised structure of FFT based non-maximally decimation filter bank with low computational complexity, which provides a new idea for designing generalized non-maximally decimation filter banks. The correctness of this method is verified. In this report, two groups of equivalent operations used in the above method are simulated and analyzed to verify their equivalence. A structure of maximally decimated filter bank is derived by using the above method, and the simulation analysis is also carried out.
